Think PINK!

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Breast cancer touches millions of lives. It is expected that 211,200 women and 1,720 men in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and more than 41,000 people will die from breast cancer in 2006 alone. One by one, we can make a difference!

The Susan G. Breast Cancer Foundation is kicking of the month with a new program- Passionately Pink for the Cure! They are encouraging everyone to show their support and wear pink every day in October.
~Passionately Pink for the Cureā„¢ is an easy, creative program we hope will have everyone seeing pink everywhere you look, every day in October, encouraging millions of people nationwide to get involved in the promise for the cure. ~

I personally am encouraging all my friends to wear something PINK every day this month. (Whether it's a shirt, ribbon, pin, nail polish, necklace, etc.) Someday this could be one of us, our children, friends or family. Let's get involved and show our support!

Just a little humor...

(No harm meant for those that are a doctor, related to a doctor, married to a doctor, friends with a doctor, etc. I just thought it was kinda funny.) ;o)

Humor /Fact or Maybe Both!

Doctors and Guns
================
Doctors:
(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.
(B) Accidental deaths caused by physicians per year are 120,000.
(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.
Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services.

Guns:
(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. Yes, that is 80 million.
(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year all age groups is 1,500.
(C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is 0.000188

Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

Remember, "Guns don't kill people, doctors do."

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand! Out of concern for the public at large, I have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.

Updates.....

Just a few updates (since I have nothing really to blog about).....

First- the fridge was FIXED on Saturday!!! Yeah!!! So now you all don't have to hear me wine about it anymore.

Second- Cookie (the baby gerbil) is getting so big! She's almost the same size as her mama! She's so cute.

Third- here's a sneak peak at some of the changes in the kitchen.

Now here's something a little funny. I got out one of the bi-fold doors last night and painted it. Then drug in the second one to paint it and realized........

We bought 2 different doors...SNAPS! At least I had painted the correct one and not the one that will need to go back to the store.

Last, I would like to say that Mike and I had a great anniversary Saturday. Thanks for all of those that were able to share it with us!!! We had a good time!
