Sad Story in the News

It made me very sad to see the following story in the news about the premature baby found in the trash dumpster. I just don't understand how people can do things like that. There is just no excuse for it. People capable of that just need to be locked up or have their own life disposed of!

A premature baby was discovered Thursday in a restaurant dumpster clinging to life. Paramedics who found her say she could not have survived another 30 minutes. The baby is now in critical condition at Cardinal Glennon Hospital. Her 22-year-old mother is in St. Anthony's medical center where she told a nurse earlier in the day where they could find the infant. Police believe the woman delivered the baby in the bathroom of a second-floor St. Charles apartment. A witness says he saw a woman carrying a plastic trash bag up some concrete steps to the parking lot of the nearby El Maguey Mexican restaurant. The child was found in a dumpster on the restaurant's property. Since the child remains in critical condition, the investigation is being handled by homicide detectives. So far, no charges have been filed against the mother.
