Still in Chicago

We've been here since Sunday and having a good time. We've been able to do a few things, but not as much as we would have liked.

Sunday:
Drove up here, went to Shedd Aquarium and then to dinner at Houlihans after checking into the hotel. It was a long day and we were both tired, so we didn't get out to do anything after dinner. Hung out at the hotel bar for a couple beers (at $6.00 each) and then went to bed.

Monday:
Mike and a friend that lives in the area, went to Wrigley Field and then to a few local bars during the afternoon. Of course Mike didn't take the camera, so we have no pictures from Wrigley Field. Then in the evening we went to a little Italian resaurant called Coco Pazzo. This restaurant was not exactly our style...we thought it would be something like Olive Garden or something. Felt a little underdressed, couldn't tell what most of the things were on the menu, and just felt uncomfortable. Once we ate, we got out of there and walked to the John Hancock building. Went to the observation deck...the view was beautiful! Since it was night time, the whole city was lit up. Got some great pictures (will post when we get back). Then we went to the little cocktail lounge that was above the observation floor. Beer....$7.50 and we're talking just a regular bottle. So we decided that since we were going to have to pay too much for a beer we might as well pay too much for a mixed drink and enjoy it. They actually had both UV and Red Bull, so we each got a drink at $15.00 a piece. :o) Walked back to the hotel had a few drinks and turned in for the night.

Tuesday Night:
Hung out at the hotel bar for a drink. Walked to Rock Bottom Brewery, ate, had a few drinks and then walked back to the hotel. Hung out at the bar for a little bit and then went to bed. By this time the bartenders know us and know what we drink. They are great and very nice. The one is from Mexico, so it reminded me of being there (except for the fact we had to pay for each beer....)

Wednesday:
Moved on to Schaumburg....checked into the hotel while Mike was at class, drove around the city a bit to see where things were, took a nap. We met Mike's friend and his wife for dinner at Stonewood Ale House. Then after dinner we located a liquor store and picked up some UV and headed back to the hotel.

Thursday:
Took Mike to class, then met Jennifer & Landon for lunch at Chevy's. After lunch the 3 of us headed to the Ikea store. I had never heard of it before; the store was great! I can see why she loves that store so much. Found some stuff to buy (of course). Then we went on to a few other places in a strip mall close by. Had a great time with them, it was nice to have some one-on-one time with Jen. Landon is so cute and he was sooooo good through out our shopping trip. Jen & Landon head back home and I go pick up Mike from class. We met his classmates for dinner at Smokey Bones. Then moved on to TGI Friday's for a quick drink and head back to the hotel.

Today:
I'll head to the mall..... :o) Not sure what we'll do this evening, but then we'll head back home in the morning. See you all then!
